  • What We Do..
  • The Infant School
  • 01. We start moulding the characters of children just over 2 1/2 years. This gives a solid foundation for total personality development.
  • The Pre - School
  • 02. We conduct teacher training programmes for primary teachers in the English Medium.
  • BSIC From a Distance
  • 03. The students get a thorough coaching to indulge in more goal oriented tasks that enable them to perform better at exams and the focus is more on the 'O' Level exam set by the Ministry of Education, Sri Lanka.
  • Senior School
  • 04. We prepare the students to face the local curriculum in the English medium set by the M.O.E. paving the way for the students to enter the university provided they score the necessary mark.
  • PIP - Parents in Participation
  • 05. We give the opportunity to every parent to meet his/her child's class teacher to discuss the child's progress and also to see the child's test progress.
  • Teacher Training Programme
  • 06. We conduct a teacher training programme for primary teachers in the English Medium.
  • Medical Attention
  • 07. We supply immediate medical attention when necessary by a doctor parent.
  • Educational activities
  • 08. We conduct "PIP" sessions (parents in participation) for parents to help them get their children involved in educational activities at home.
  • Western Band
  • 09. At the school we have our own junior western band. The students are selected according to their talents and musical abilities and it is open to all students.
  • Children's Day
  • 10. Children's Day is a great opportunity for all the children to exhibit all their creative work and ideas they have undertaken over the year. It is also a great fun day for the children as they are involved in games and activities.
  • Handicrafts
  • 11. There is also the opportunity for students to become involved in learning arts and crafts as well as life skills. Handicraft lessons are undertaken with the students and help make the idea of creating crafts fun and enjoyable learning. There are also lessons such as cooking which develops their skills for later in life.
  • Independence Day
  • 12. With such pride in their country, the school ensures Independence Day is celebrated in style with a celebration in the morning at school. The students are involved in presenting the performances which include dramas, singing and dancing and all the students are involved in celebrating their country's independence with such enthusiasm and excitement.
  • Having fun!
  • 13. All the students are encouraged to participate in indoor activities and at Brilliant Stars we have the facilities for the students to have fun and enjoy playing outside with their friends during breaktime or before/after school. There is always a teacher on hand to supervise the students and provide guidance when necessary.
  • Learning Students
  • 14.BSIC encourages 'Student Centered Learning'. SCL promotes students to take their own initiative in the process of learning. Our academic staff guides the student providing special attention where needed.

  • 16. At Brilliant Stars we recognise the importance of rewarding our students for all their hard work throughout the year. This Awards ceremony celebrates and recognises the support of the students and their families and provides a prestigious day out for the school and its students. Each student is Awarded a trophy for their accomplishments and recognition from all their teachers.
  • Annual Concert
  • 17. What a wonderful way to develop and nurture the talents of all our students The Annual Concert is the students' day and shows what talent, enthusiasm and commitment these students have. The day involves dramas, singing, dancing together with plays and readings which are developed and delivered by the students themselves. It is a great day and a wonderful way for the school, the students and their families to celebrate the talents of these young people.
  • Avrudu Day
  • 18. To many of us, the Sinhala and Tamil New Year is an occasion on which we attempt to repeat certain rituals and ceremonies of the past, based on a lifestyle that had agriculture (i.e. paddy cultivation) as its main vocation. We understand the importance of our country's heritage. At Brilliant Stars we celebrate the New Year with our students participating and re-enacting these types of ceremonies so that they understand the importance of our past which can assist them in looking forward to the future and celebrating the new year ahead.
